About the Author

Cynthia is an award-winning journalist. Her byline has appeared in newspapers, magazines and books. She first launched her quest for intriguing words and lilting rhymes when she wrote this book and S is for Star: A Christmas Alphabet. Cynthia and her husband Mark have three children, Chip, Ben and Elizabeth.

Jeannie Brett studied at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. She has illustrated many books including this one, M Is for Mayflower: A Massachusetts Alphabet, and My Cat, Coon Cat. She both wrote and illustrated Little Maine. She lives in York Harbor, Maine with her husband.
