About the Author

Lindsey McDivitt has spent most of her life near the Mississippi River or the Great Lakes. She enjoys searching the shore for shells or stones, especially agates, and gazing up into tall trees, especially white pines. After years in Michigan, she now resides in Minnesota. Lindsey began writing children's books after many years in health education. She co-edited a book of true stories by stroke survivors. More about Lindsey can be found at www.lindseymcdivitt.com, where she highlights picture books with older role models and accurate images of aging.

Illustrator Eileen Ryan Ewen was born into a family of artists who fostered her love of storytelling through pictures. She holds a BFA in Painting from Miami University (Ohio) and an MFA in Creative writing from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She is also the illustrator of Miss Colfaxs Light (SBP). She resides in St. Louis with her family.
