Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop 1959 Southern Rock Tribute ’59 R9 Aged & Signed only 50 Reverseburst

As the first guitar maker to pay tribute to a genre of music, Gibson Custom is once again setting new standards in the industry, this time through the launch of its Southern Rock Tribute program and a corresponding guitar. The program, which features the support of legends of the genre, including Dickey Betts, Charlie Daniels, Gary Rossington and Jimmy Hall, celebrates the cultural importance of Southern Rock through charitable giving and recognition of the artists that established Southern Rock as a genre of positive revolution and cultural significance beginning in the late 1960’s and 1970’s. Vintage guitar experts, including Ronny Proler, are also consulting on the program, lending input into the icon piece of the program, The Southern Rock Tribute 1959 Les Paul.
Based on the brand’s flagship 1959 Les Paul Reissue, an homage to the original 1959 that was the chosen tool of many of Southern Rock’s most influential players, the new Southern Rock Tribute 1959 Les Paul features a special “Reverseburst” finish designed to be instantly recognized. From the sales of this very special guitar, the Gibson Foundation will donate a portion of the proceeds to benefit members of the music community through Music Health Alliance.

50 pieces are hand-aged and then signed by the program’s Ambassadors – Charlie Daniels, Jimmy Hall, Gary Rossington, Dickey Betts and Ronny Proler.
